Yes, it's late, normally one'd be asleep right now, but no, not me.

That is bacause my cat just puked all over the floor. I never knew there was so much space for vomit inside him.

I guess I should be annoyed, but instead I'm more worried because he's getting into his older years. He's being lethargic and mean, and he's also lost weight, that's just so atypical! He's 12 now and I really don't want him to become sick or die. :(

If he's being sick and losing weight, it might be something as simple as worms (a cat at work puked the other day and the worms in the vomit wiggled at me D:). Though if he's lethargic and mean, that's sure signs that he's not feeling well :( I hope your kitty perks up soon!

EDIT: Written a proper reply, now that I think about what might be bothering your puss-puss :3

It can be any number of things really, from something simple like he's eaten something that doesn't agree with him and his body is just purging itself, or he's constipated, which can make them pissy and throw up, in which case you can get things like Katalax or Protexin Pro-Kolin to aid digestion (I have no idea if you can get these in Germany or if they need to be prescribed thoughif he does have a serious problem, they might irritate him further). It can be a sign of other problems though. You should watch how much he's eating and drinking; loss of appetite combined with excessive drinking (more than he normally would in other words) can be signs of kidney or thyroid problems, or diabeties, all of which are easily treated if caught early enough with pills you put in their food or special biscuits. Unfortunately the only way to know if a cat has either condition is for it to have a blood test which can be quite expensive (we charge about £30 for each test, and I used to think that was outrageous but when I seen how much it costs for the kit to do the test I can see that it's reasonable since you have to throw each kit away after one use). Sometimes we have to send blood sampled away to labs to be checked, which can cost upwards of £50.

All of this aside, it might even be something as simple as he has a sore mouth. We see a lot of cats who have bad gum/teeth problems who have become really grumpy because they can't eat their normal food and end up eating whatever they can find which makes them sick. You can get special kitty dental biscuits which are shaped to clean their teeth :) And you can get proper dental proceedures carried out at the vet to remove teeth and plaque so they can eat normally once they're healed up.

Sadly though, the only way you can rule any of these problems out is to actually take him to a vet :( If you're really worried about him, you should take him or try to phone to get some advice. Most vets will usually let you speak to them for free, or the receptionist can pass a message on to let them know and they can get back to you. Kitties can hide problems easier than dogs or rabbits. Overall though, it's probably nothing serious. We had a cat in at work yesterday who was rushed in "at deaths door" i.e. he'd been puking all weekend and all he needed was a simple injection of anti-biotic and the owners phoned today to say he's back to normal :3

Shh... Don't tell anyone that it was me who told you this XD

Thank you for the long advice!

I don't think he has worms, I would have noticed this as much as I have to clean his messes up. :/

I think all drugs have to be prescribed here, and I really don't wanna mess around with him, if I'm not sure what his problem is. It would probably be for the best if I took him to the vet, and I already would have wouldn't it be so damn expensive. :/ But I think I will (or send my mother do it since I'm moving away so soon and can't take him with me).
I really hope it's something as simple as the case you mentioned last! :)
